Hello Favored #LA Family! The family of God that seeks to know Him more each passing day!
It’s Day 3 of our #LA130 program. For more information, please see here.
Today’s Reading: Matthew 5 – 6.
For the daily readings, please see here.
In Matthew 5, we have the popular Beatitudes. From the Fresh shares by family members, we are made to see the Beatitudes as a list of our core values, reflecting the bare necessities. They are character traits God notices and calls blessed. The Beatitudes provide a way of life that promises salvation, they also provide peace in the midst of our trials and tribulations.
Two recurring statements made by Jesus in Matthew 5: “You have heard that it was said…..” which was usually followed by “But I tell you…..”
Lesson learned from that fresh observation? Know the Word for NOW. What Christ is telling us overrides what we previously heard. One sure way of knowing what God is telling us is by looking into the law of liberty. Cover to cover. Learn it. Chew it. Digest it. Apply it.
Still not getting the gist? The following Tweets by @IkeAmadi should provide more clarity:
“You’ve heard that people in your family marry late, Jesus is saying, #ITellYou there is divine acceleration for you!”
“Perhaps #YouHaveHeard that you are sick, but Jesus is saying #ITellYou you are well! Receive it!”
“Perhaps #YouHaveHeard that your generation is cursed; don’t matter. Jesus says, #ITellYou You are blessed!”
“Perhaps #YouHaveHeard that there are no jobs for you; Jesus is saying #ITellYou there is a job for you! Receive it!”
What did Matthew 6 hold for us? Jesus commands us to seek the Kingdom of God above all else. How do we practice that while balancing work, family, relationships and so on? We’ve compiled the answers from the WhatsApp family members.
Keep studying, meditating and living His Word. However, remember to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. – Tobi Fresh
We should always have time to pray and study God’s word and after that go on with our activities. While going through our daily activities, we can continually seek the Kingdom by bringing to bear the God factor in all we do. – Stable Chief Sam
In our day to day walk with the Holy Ghost, He will teach us how to seek His kingdom above every other thing. – Ife LOVE
Seeking the Kingdom first applies to everything we do. Therefore, anything that doesn’t promote his Kingdom should be jettisoned. – Dr. Busuyi
WOW!
Food For Thought: If all we do is love the lovable, how do we expect people to know we’re Christ’s Ambassadors?
Please deposit Matthew 6:33 into the memory bank:
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need
