May Blessing Sunday with Dr Paul Enenche

HOPE FOR THE NATIONS PRAYER – THURSDAY, 7TH MAY, 2020
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): PSALM 103:1-5
MESSAGE TOPIC: THE PURPOSE AND POWER OF THANKSGIVING
By: Dr. Paul Enenche

MESSAGE OBJECTIVES:
1. Understanding why we thank God
2. Understanding what happens as we give God thanks and appreciation

Thanksgiving is one of the most critical virtues of the Christian life (1Thess. 5:18)
There is something to thank God for in the midst of everything

THE PURPOSE OF THANKSGIVING:
1. To show that we can see what God is doing
If you have not seen what God has done you are never in the position to see what God will do
2. To show that we are not taking what God is doing for granted
3. To show that we are not forgetting what God is doing
4. To show that our strength, wisdom, ability and resources were not responsible for what we are seeing (Zech. 4:6)
5. To confirm our total dependence on the help and mercy of God for all things
6. To give the glory to the Only One to Whom all glory belongs
7. To confirm our faith in the continuous intervention of God in our affairs

THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING:
1. The confirmation and establishment of the continuous defeat and failure of the enemy in the affairs of our lives (Ps. 103:1-5; Rev. 12:11)
Thanksgiving is testimony addressed to God

2. The irrigation of faith for continuous Divine intervention and manifestation (1Sam. 17:34)

3. The activation of the next phase of Divine intervention (Luke 17:11-19)
Your thanksgiving of today qualifies you for your miracle of tomorrow
