Psalm 87:6
The Lord will write in the register of the peoples; this one was born in Zion.
I am always excited when I think about heaven and all the beautiful things that abound there: the Street of Gold, God in unapproachable light, the Elders, the Angels etc. The moment we give our lives to Christ our names are/were written in the Book of Life, ‘if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).
This book contains the names of those who will live with God forever in heaven. These are the names of those who are saved. As believers we are assured that our names are written in this register. Unbelievers will be judged according to their works and no matter how good and impactful those works were, they won’t be enough to earn them salvation. Salvation is guaranteed only in Christ Jesus.
Now that we are saved, we must diligently guard our salvation and daily work at avoiding our names being blotted out of the Book of Life, as recorded in Revelation 3:5 and Exodus 32:33. Luke 10:20 admonishes us not to rejoice because of our achievements on earth, but to rejoice that our names are written in heaven. Heaven is the greatest reward any believer can receive after their race here on earth.
Beloved, we must not deny ourselves of so many things here on earth and still miss heaven; we must be resolute in our pursuit of making heaven. Whatever it takes we must all get to heaven and walk that Street of Gold with Jesus.
PRAYERS
Lord Jesus, take away from me whatever will distract me from this heavenly race or cause me to be a stumbling block for others.
Lord, may my name neverbe blotted out of the Book of Life, make me reign with you in eternity in Jesus name. Amen
