April: month of LOVE
Reading: Psalm 37, 2 Corinthians 5
Text: “So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:6
Recently, I had to do a self-appraisal and discovered it is too easy to change our priorities without even realizing it. Our world is built to shift our line of thinking, and we follow through easy. At some point in our Christian walk, we surrendered our lives to God, we made certain commitments to him, which were:
1) not selfish and
2) born out His Spirit’s inspiration.
Can we look back on our lives and confidently claim that we have kept that commitment? Can we say those commitments are still our first priorities, without any doubt in our hearts? If we can’t, I believe it is time for reconciliation to the Father!
In times of need we are inclined to put our trust in God to the test. However Psalm 37:4, reminds us to “delight yourself in the Lord and he would grant you the desires of your heart!”
Let us wait on him! No matter what changes in your life, don’t let your commitment to your Father change.
LEARN and APPLY: Study his word! Walk with him the way you did at the happiest moments of your life.
Prayer Focus:
Father, I believe in my heart that Your promises are Yes and Amen! This is how I know that I can trust that You have great things in store for me. Help me to stay true to You no matter the circumstances around me. Amen.
