GOD’S APPROVED

image

‘but let him who boasts boast in the lord, for it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one who the lord commends’ 2 Cor 1-:17-18 (NIV)

What you say about yourself means nothing in God’s work. It is what God says about you. (MSG)

Service in God’s vineyard is all about doing our Father’s bidding. It is paramount that we get his approval. And nothing gets God’s approval more than a believing and willing heart, desiring to please him alone.

Abraham had it and he was called ‘friend of God’. Noah had it and he was called ‘righteous’. David received an everlasting covenant with God, Solomon received wisdom, Daniel, an excellent spirit and Paul- redemption and the list is endless.

A common trait in all these people was a heart for God. They were not perfect, they had flaws but they also had something that superseded every flaw, God’s approval.

It is very easy to get lost in the crowd as we render service to God. It is easy to lose our need to please God as we serve him. Let this scripture serve as a check-up for every one of us.

When we begin to lose focus, let’s remember that there is only one person’s approval we need, God’s.

‘We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God; we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.’ 2 Cor 10: 5

Prayer Focus
Lord, it is our desire to render meaningful service to You, help us to achieve this, in Jesus name, Amen.
