January: The month of FAITH
Reading: Mark 1-4
Faith Moves God
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:5
The story of the men who lowered their paralyzed friend through the roof never ceases to amaze me. They had not yet seen Jesus however they were ready to go to extreme lengths to ensure that they did. They knew that once their paralyzed friend encountered our Savior, he would be healed. Such evidence of great faith!
Immediately Jesus saw them, He was moved to do something. He didn’t wait for them to make their request. Their faith had spoken up for them.
In this month of faith, we can grow our faith by immersing ourselves in the Word of God. Studying the Word and reading about the miracles that occurred will surely increase our level of faith. Walking by faith daily and seeing tangible results is another faith booster. For example, don’t wait for a “big name” disease before accelerating your faith, start with the headaches and colds.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. If He could do it then, He can certainly do it now. Act in faith and watch God move in you: circumstances, health, family. Yes, all areas of your life.
Lord, as I act in faith, move mightily in my life! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
