#LAGenesis Day 22 Devotional by @feyily

A Thousand Ways

‘but Judah spoke to him, saying, ‘The MAN solemnly warned us, saying, ‘You shall not see my face unless your brother is with you. Genesis 43:3

One of God’s most noble acts is to lift up the poor from their despicable positions into places of honour; God can change our stories if we allow Him do so. He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts up the needy from ash heap, He seats them with the Princes and He settles the barren woman in her house.

There is no one like God. He fulfils His promise in the life of Joseph. Leads him to the throne in a foreign land and made his brothers bow to him, as He revealed to Joseph many years ago. So many things were done to truncate the promise of God upon his life, but God made all the difficulties he passed through enrich his story and his victory a mystery to all; God works in wondrous ways.

This reminds me of a line from one of my favourite hymns, ‘God has a thousand ways; where we have none’. We expect victory in a dimension, but God turns it around and takes us through a tougher road to mould us and make us handle our success well.

Let us take a cue from the story of Joseph. Are you at the edge of giving up? The scripture makes it clear that God will always bring to pass what He has promised. God sees you and He cares, keep trusting Him; He will turn your situation around for good.

Prayer focus
Father, help me to wait upon your promises and may I not try to help You in my life. My father, take me to the throne that you have prepared for me.
Every power blocking my way to my promised land, I come against you, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
