Parables are back! Two Parables in Matthew 25, each with many lessons within, we’ll share the not so obvious lessons.
The Parable of the Ten Virgins: The lamp is the Word (Psalm 119:105). Five of the virgins had extra oil – Revelation from the Word. The wise invest in oil – the Word of God. Be Wise!
The Parable of the Talents: Each person “According to his own ability” is to “USE” what he/she has been given.
Right after those two parables, the Lord spoke of Judgment using the illustration of the Sheep and Goats. Judgment will surely come and the Lord will distinguish between those that are His and those that are not. The distinguishing factor: Touching lives as propelled by love.
The Holy Communion took place in Matthew 26. Verse 26 says “As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. The he broke it in pieces and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” Yes. Jesus said to eat his body. “Do this often.” He said, “In remembrance of me.” John 1 tells us that Jesus is the Word made flesh. Therefore we must EAT THE WORD. READ THE WORD. MEDITATE ON THE WORD. LEARN THE WORD. APPLY THE WORD. FRESH!
Food For Thought: There’s no doubt that Jesus is the Word. The question is, are we eating Him daily?
Please deposit Matthew 26:41 into the memory bank:
Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”
Stay #FRESH, #CHAP and #ALIVE!
