Don’t Neglect the Word of God. – Jerry Sturgeon

Read the Book! Jeremiah Chapters 6-8 August 5

Jeremiah 6:10 “To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, And they cannot give heed. Behold, the Word of the Lord is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.”

Can you imagine that anybody would refuse to hear God? How can the healing Word of God become such a reproach? Why wouldn’t we delight in the Word?

When we read the Word of the Lord, it will tell us where we missed it, so we can be blessed. But if we don’t want to change, then we don’t want Instruction. It will become a rebuke. Instead of following God’s Way, we will lay the Bible aside, and do what will bring “delight” to us.
Reading the Word of God always brings change ending in Rejection or Acceptance!
When we first start reading the Bible, it is like an instant sleeping pill. But as our ears became “circumcised,” We will be drawn in by the Spirit to consume this Bread of Life. The Word becomes more alive the more we meditate on it.

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130 NKJV
