Let Him Guide you; have no regrets!
Choices! Choices! Choices!
How they play a vital role in our lives! Life is all about choices; and whether we like it or not, we’ll have to face the choices we make at some point in life. Some will embrace us, others will be a blow on the face.
Here is Esau, paying the price for a choice he made.
While selling his birthright, Esau did not even consider what he was doing. We read this in Gen 25:31-33 ‘ Jacob said, ‘Sell me your birthright now.’ Esau said, ‘I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?’ Jacob said, ‘Swear to me now.’ So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.’ He willingly did this, for food.
Today, losing his blessings, Esau puts the blame on Jacob. Gen 27:36 ‘ And Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing!’
The truth however is that Jacob did not take away his birthright, Esau gave it to him. You know what happens here tends to be like something very wrong on the side on Jacob. It is like he and the mother are playing a dirty game on Esau; but come to consider it, Esau, as the first born, was entitled to his father’s blessings, it is his birthright; and by selling it to Jacob, it did not belong to him anymore.
How many times in life have we made decisions without considering the effect it will have on our lives? How many times have we regretted and said, ‘I wish I knew this is how it would turn out to be!’ Countless number of times. Then we end up blaming people for tricking us and so on and so forth; when, had we carefully considered the choice we were making, we would not have landed there. Had Esau not let greed for soup control him, he wouldn’t have missed his blessings. Be ready to pay the price for your choices, choose wisely, and this is only possible if we let God guide us through.
Remember to;
Always take your time, do not make rushy -decisions that will land you into regrets. Ask God for guidance in every decision making process. Do not sell your birthright! God forbid! That is not your portion in Jesus name.
Prayer;
Lord Jesus, I come before you today, asking for your guidance in every decision I make. I ask for direction in every step I take, that I will not end up losing what belongs to me. Take the lead in my life, as I humbly and attentively follow after you.
