Understanding the Process to Progress – TD Jakes

Empathy is the capacity to place oneself in another’s shoes.

Stop looking at your situation through the wrong lens. Don’t call something a mess that God calls progress.

The mess is a part of the process that leads to progress.

How you see things must change.
Luke 22:31-32

God cares about your mentality: “I pray that your faith fail not” (v. 32).

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:   But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Luke 22:31‭-‬32 KJV

Stand in the middle of that situation and say, Lord I trust you that all things will work together for my good.

Are you operating from a place of faith or from a place of feeling?

Declare: I know that God is for me. I am convinced that life is for me. That even if life seems to be against me, all I have left to right with is my faith that though this is painful right now, I know you’re working on something; and you wouldn’t allow me to have this pain if it is not for my good.

You cannot operate from the perspective of the mess. You have to operate from the perspective of progress.

Stop focusing on what others are not, and start focusing on what they are.

Talk progress, always!

On giving:
You need to give away the very thing you need!

I find it hard being tough on people who are weak. I have had weaknesses too and hence I must forgive others.

Finally, you’ve got something that God can use!
