The intensity of God’s love for you (Ezekiel 16). #LAFruits

Who would think to find such high – powered expression of love in Ezekiel?  In Songs of Solomon, Yes. But certainly not in Ezekiel.

Those who wish to be good lovers must learn from God, who loved us through our nothingness until we reached perfection.

God just told us the story of love. He who knows our origin and our birth (v. 3) said,

“When you were born, nobody wanted you (v. 4). No one had compassion on you (v.5). But when I passed by you, I was moved and ministered life to you. I told you to live! And I made you flourish (v. 8); I did everything for you and adorned you so much, to the extent that, “You grew exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty” (v. 13).

See the climax:

“And your renown went forth among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through the splendor that I had bestowed on you, declares the Lord God” (v. 14).

I am today reminded that my freshness is of God. I am perfect only because God wills it and works or in me (Phil. 2:13).

One song writer wrote

He has done so much for me
He has taken away my sorrow
Oh glory, hallelujah
He’s coming to take me home

The question is,

My soul, how will you treat this God who has done so much for you?
