READ #LAProverbs Devotional Day 25 ‘Dig For Gold’ by @khemmzie

‘it is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.’ Proverbs 25:2 (KJV)

I remember as a young girl becoming a teenage tomboy. I’d often see ladies on the streets, in movies and magazines, all dressed up and acting so classy. My older sisters were not around for me to learn how to bring out my femininity. So I read all the ‘how-tos’ in the magazines and newspapers. I practiced and gradually I grew into a lady.

When we search and discover answers to a problem ourselves, we get a sense of pride, accomplishment and what we discover is cherished. People easily lose sight of the importance of results
if effort is not put into a task. And I think that is why God has made himself a mystery to man, even though we were created in his image and likeness.

We were given Christ as a living example. To show us the standards we are to meet. But how do we live up to these standards when we don’t know the lifestyle of God? And how can we know His lifestyle when we haven’t figured ours out yet?

The glory of God has been made available to man: in the bible, in the lives of people around us, in things that happen to us (the bad and the good) and in our own lives. But it is the ‘Kings’ amongst us who will make it a joyful duty to seek it out.

Let’s make consistent, daily efforts to discover those things concealed about our God. This is for our growth, development and honor as kings, true heirs of the throne of grace. So brethren, let’s dig!

Prayer Focus
Awesome God, You are wonderful beyond human comprehension! I want to know more of You and be more like You daily. Help me to patiently seek Your word and glory, especially when I don’t feel like it. Let Your word be my daily bread and Your glory over me, my oxygen. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
