WALK YOUR TALK

Seeth a man diligent in his work? He shall stand before kings and not mere men.‘ Proverbs 22:29 (KJV)

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.‘ Aristotle

It’s amazing the things we will do if we set our mind to it. The Oxford English dictionary defines diligence as ‘conscientiousness / determination / perseverance when doing something.’

The bible is very explicit on this verse. ‘Seeth a man…’ Note, it didn’t say ‘seeth’ a Christian or a preacher or a worker. It says ‘seeth’ ANY man, or woman. Ever wonder why unbelievers get things we struggle so hard to get as Christians? Truth is there are natural laws, law of gravity is one of them. The same applies for a diligent man or a man with the spirit of excellence, he cannot but succeed. As Christians, we have an edge because God dwells on our inside, which makes all the difference in the world. Why should we live our lives less than God’s intention?

Jesus lived a life of excellence. He did whatever needed to be done, excellently. He prepared for years before starting out his ministry. Therefore we should be not be a difference when we handle projects at work or wherever we are. We must do our best at all times. If it’s worth doing at all, it’s worth doing well.

We don’t live a life of excellence by doing things excellently once in a while, excellence is a habit, it takes conscious effort.

What are you willing to do differently?

Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to your virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.‘ 2 Peter 1:5-7

Prayer Focus.
Help me dear Lord to live a life of excellence.
