READ: #LAFruits Insights: Psalm 20 and 1 Cor 4 from Nth America Whatsapp Family

Hi LA family.

I hope everyone had a blessed week and is ready to rest up this weekend.

Today’s meal :

I actually enjoyed today’s reading and all day I was reminded of our confidence in Christ as promised in Psalm 20:  “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. (‭Psalm‬ ‭20‬:‭7-8‬ NIV)”

In our world today, everyone says you have to know ‘somebody’ to be able to excel or be able to have a leg in. So I have had issues with this for a very long time because it’s like you can never get something based on merit unless you ‘know somebody’ and this happens on many instances but then I thought to myself after reading this passage above: “In order for us as Christians to have a testimony that is extraordinary, we actually have to trust in the Lord and not chariots and horses like everyone else in the world. Actually when God does anything for us, He wants it set up in such a way that ALL the glory goes up to Him.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬ NIV)-

As I read the entire 1 Corinthians 4, it was so clear that the message to the church was that of humility. In our Christian life, it is more important that our lives reflect the word as the word of God has power and will reach whatever depth needed and change lives via our interactions.

We should be careful to not be boastful or too talkative in a way that is displeasing to God and assumes arrogance even though we are talking about the word of God.

    1. Hi Nnamdi. Well I mean that when we are speaking of the word of God, it should be with humility in our hearts and not arrogance as Paul said. Because in the end, God’s word is powerful in itself and sad to say but God does not ‘need’ us so we need to speak of His word with humility and love while trying to talk about the word or spread it to others.
