Hold Tight

Text: Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute, and love without stopping. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (MSG)

Friends, we are in a world that is not perfect. Things hardly go the way we planned or want it to go. But the scripture tells us that we should hold tight to our conviction. You and I needed to hold tight unto our conviction in the face of contrary situations and circumstances. When my wife and I were expecting our first child six years ago. We had some challenges concerning her health in the second trimester. We went for different tests but the source of the pain could not be pinpointed. We were later told she had fibroids and was told to prepare for a cesarean operation. I told her she didn’t have fibroids. And finally, to cut the long story short, the fibroids and its associated pain disappeared.

It wasn’t always easy but you and I will need to stand for what we believe. God’s word supersedes our feelings. What am I saying in essence is that you and I need to stand on our convictions because the devil will not want the word to come to pass. You and I need to constantly stand firm on our beliefs until we see God’s intended end.

Expect the devil not to allow you to enjoy it without a fight. He will give you False Evidence Appearing Real (FEAR) to see if you will run away. Stand on what you believe and you will reap the benefit of your conviction.

LEARN and APPLY: When faced with contrary situations, stand firm on what you believe and it will come to pass. Give it all it takes. Not a halfhearted commitment but every word of God you and I possesses.
