Not in Silver; Not in Gold.
‘Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.’ Acts 3:6
There are times I am so sad that I do not have any money to give to those in need. I probably feel that as a minister, I ought to meet the material needs of my flock. But a material thing isn’t the only thing a minister can give.
Peter and John had neither silver nor gold, but had the Holy Spirit living and working in them. The same power that raised Christ from the dead was working in and through them that even though they didn’t have money to give to the lame man, they had Jesus. And he who has Jesus has all things.
As a minister of God, what do you have? What do you have to offer your world?
Do you have Jesus? Then, friend, you have everything. Use Jesus! Use Jesus to heal the sick, use Jesus to comfort the afflicted. Use Jesus to lead sinners to God. Use Jesus.
Do not rely on silver of gold rely on Jesus. Remember, he who has Jesus has all things, for ‘all things were made through Him. John 1:3
Father, thank you for the gifts you have embodied me with. Help me to realize and use them in Jesus name.
