READ #LA65 Devotional Day 9 – Do Not Surrender: Mark 5-8

#LA65 MV Day 9

Don’t Surrender.

January: the month of FAITH
Reading: Mark 5-8

‘Daughter, your faith has made you well.’ Mark 5:34

One reason to read the stories of the many people Jesus healed is so that our faith in God can grow; then we too can believe God for our healing, knowing that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). What He did for others he can still do for us.

Another reason is to learn the principles those healed applied, which brought them their healing. We know that when we apply the very same principles from the word of God in our lives we will get the same result, for ‘The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.’ (Isaiah 40:8)

Notable in today’s reading is the healing of the woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years (Mark 5:25). Although she had suffered many things from the doctors, she didn’t give up believing. She didn’t surrender to the sickness. And God responded to her faith, and healed her of the issue.

The story of the healing of the woman with the flow of blood teaches me not to surrender to sickness. Family, let us not surrender to sickness, let us not surrender to poverty, let us not surrender to debt. We must hold on to God’s word by faith and see our circumstances turn around for good.

May we grow to the point where we can believe God’s promises for our lives and see our year become fruitful.

Prayer Focus:
Thank you Lord for you alone can do the miraculous. Help me to believe in your promises for me and my family in Jesus name, Amen.
