Be Profitable (Do Something)

‘Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Matthew 28:20 (NLT)

Aren’t these words most comforting? These words of Jesus Christ assuring us that He is with us until the end of time.

It is the glory of our Heavenly Father that we be fruitful in all things that He has entrusted into our care. The Gospel of Christ is the most important of those things, which He has placed in our care.

In Matthew 25:14-28, we read of the profitable and unprofitable servants. The master was proud of the servants who had wisely handled the monies kept in their care with profits to show. He had nothing but contempt and punishment for the unprofitable servant.

God has blessed each of us with talents, skills, experiences, knowledge etc. He expects that we use these gifts to bless others as He directs, for His glory. When we use these gifts for the purposes for which He entrusted them to us He is well pleased. It is displeasing to Him when we hide these gifts that He has richly and freely given to us. Moreover, we have the assurance that Christ is always with us and will aid us in using our gifts for Him. It truly is a win-win situation when we obey God!

What has God called you to do? Are you doing it/them? Are you being profitable with it/them? Are you keeping your daily testimonies of God’s goodness to yourself or are others being blessed too?

The time to be profitable in His service is now.

Prayer Focus
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to maximise all the gifts, talents, skills, knowledge, and experiences with which you have blessed me. Help me to continually share the good news of the Gospel in Jesus’ name, Amen.
