January: the month of FAITH
Reading: Matthew 5-8
‘The centurion answered and said, “Lord I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.“‘ – Matthew 8:8
Earlier in Matthew 7, Jesus said , ‘Every good tree bears good fruit.‘ In other words, you qualify for fruitfulness in 2015 if you are a good tree.
Perhaps at this point you are looking at yourself and asking if you qualify. Jesus Christ is the good tree, and through redemption, you and I were grafted in (Romans 11:16-17). We became good, and therefore qualify to bear good fruits. Hallelujah!
However, for us to bear good fruits we need to increase our faith – our capacity to receive and act on God’s word. We can increase our faith by hearing and meditating on the word of God (Romans 10:17); so that like the centurion we can say to God:
speak the word and my situation will change,
speak the word and my business will be transformed,
speak the word and my body will be healed or
speak the word, and I will be fruitful!
Bless God, God has spoken the word. He says, ‘Be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply in it‘ (Gen. 9:7).
Receive in your spirit the word of God, which declares you fruitful, run with that word this 2015 by faith and see your life bear abundant fruits.
Father, I thank You for Your word towards me. Give me grace to stand on the promise of fruitfulness so that every area of my life will bear fruit this 2015. Amen.
