#LAJoshua Devotional Day 3 ‘Radical Obedience, A Radiant Faith

Radical Obedience, A Radiant Faith.

Yesterday, the people of Israel were asked to sanctify themselves before crossing the river Jordan i.e. completely separate yourselves from common practice or mindsets that will likely hinder your ability to faithfully obey and see the wonder I am about to do.

Today we read of the walls of Jericho tumbling down because the people of Israel’s complete obedience to trust Joshua’s instructions from God.
When was the last time you performed the preposterous based on an instruction from God (Josh 6:3-5)?

When was the last time your faith was so unshakeable that you were assured that your enemies hearts melted in fear of it (Josh 5:1)?

Sometimes we focus too much on whether God is with us, when we should be focusing on whether we are truly with God. The people acted on a promise made by God.
There are numerous impenetrable Jericho’s in the world’s systems and in our lives that God has already promised will fall. Jericho fell because the people had been prepared and been conquered by God spiritually in the wilderness.

We have been given a promise in Christ but it requires us to take it – through courage, endurance and complete surrender.

‘For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.’ Eph 6:12

Prayer Focus
Lord, whatever it takes to prepare me, I surrender to Your will so I may receive Your instructions to take hold of territories and exalt Your kingdom on earth, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
