#LAIsaiah Devotional Day 10 by Blessing Okoro (@blessingshares)

There comes a point in life: a stage when physical strength, acuity and competence seem to amount to nothing. As a result, we may feel discouraged and if God gives us the grace, we crawl to Him in a state of brokenness.

Let me show you what I mean, the Egyptians, in today’s verses, had experienced a series of afflictions and confusion. Yes! They were confused as to why their strength was failing them, they had terror in them and were fighting against one another.

And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.‘ Isaiah 19:2

What they didn’t realise was this, the Lord was bringing them to a state of brokenness- a state where they will worship and rely solely on Him. A stage where they would no longer rely on their strength, their expertise or achievements- but on the unfailing hand of God! It was a call to brokenness, a time for offering sacrifices to God and fulfilling vows to God.

But thank God, He brought them safely through the broken state to a point where He healed them.

‘And the Lord shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.‘ Isaiah 19:22

If you have been going through some broken days lately, wake up to the healing that awaits you. You will be more effective in the state of brokenness if you are yielding to God’s instructions and offering sacrifices and fulfilling your vows unto God. Take your eyes off the trials and look unto The Lord. You will come out stronger with rejoicing.

‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.‘ Romans 8:28
