#LAFruits Today: Love. Perfected in Me (1 John 4).

1 John 4:17
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

Perfection is the maximum. It is like a glass filled to the brim with water. Not half full, not quarter-full, but full to Perfection.

I admit that my love needs to be perfected. I admit that sometimes ego goes before me, and my love only plays catch up. I agree that I need to lose my self – less of me, so I can love the way God loves. I need to grow my love.

We know what love is. It is time to do; to give more of ourselves to meet the needs of others…so we become like Christ, who gave himself for us to be reconciled to God.

Love is not easy. But love is divine. Only those who abide in God can truly love. If loving your brother is still a struggle for you, keep praying and practicing love, until you master it and are made perfect, wanting nothing.

It is important that we be made perfect in love – so we can stand boldly before God on judgment day (v. 17).

Prayer: Father, give me more of you, and empower me to love my brothers and sisters like you will. Amen.
