#LACorinthians Devotional Day 22 by Adaobi Nwosu ( @_modiste1)

SONSHIP

image

In the story of the prodigal son, the wayward son came to his senses, was repentant and left his terrible lifestyle to seek his father, who received him with great excitement (Luke 15:11-32). God calls us to separate ourselves from the world and be unto Him. Light has no agreement with darkness. As we have received Christ, we must exercise deliberate separation from the carnal life of sin and have our minds renewed daily with the word.

We were born into sin and iniquity as human beings. So coming to God requires a conviction within us that we have a sinful nature and that we are willing to leave that life of sin and accept the life of God through Jesus Christ.

‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.’ James 4:8

Prayer Focus
Thank You Father for the gift of salvation. I am a new creation in Christ. I separate myself from a life of sin and I receive grace to do your will in Jesus name, Amen.
