#LACorinthians Devotional Day 16 by Dennis Agyeman (@persiux5)

STAND FIRM

image

Danger is always present and we should be on the watch, defending the truths of the gospel. We should be fixed in the faith of the gospel, and never desert or give it up. We should be strong as soldiers fighting against the world, the flesh, and the devil. Nor should we behave like children, to whom the weakest opposition will terrify and throw them down. We must be men and women with a spiritual courage and fortitude.

To stand firm, charity needs to shift from a place of reign in our hearts and shine through our lives; in everything we do or say. There is a great different between Christian firmness and feverish warmth. Confidently adhere to God’s doctrines of the gospel with unwavering consistency; ‘Be firm in maintaining what you believe to be true, and in holding on to your personal confidence in God, notwithstanding all the arts, insinuations, and teachings of seducers and the friends of false doctrine.’ 1 Cor 15:1

‘Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:10-12

Prayer Focus
Father Lord, we wrestle against dark powers, give us the grace O Lord to fight against them. Father Lord, grant us Your Holy Ghost Fire to set them on fire. Anoint our head with Your oil so no weapon can fashion against us in Jesus’ name, Amen.
