#LAAccess Devotional Apr 23: Follow the Lord’s Leading (Judges 14)

Text: Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.  But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord , that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
Judges 14:3‭-‬4 KJV

Learn and Apply: Have you ever done something which you didn’t fully understand, only for it to make sense in the end?  This must have been the case of Samson’s parents who couldn’t understand Samson’s idea of taking a wife from among the Philistines. But it was all in God’s plan for his life (Judges 14:4).

As we go through life, there may be many things we will do, which we may not fully understand. Our only solace therefore is to trust in God’s plan for our life. And we know that those who trust in the Lord are like mount Zion which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

Let God’s word encourage us to trust the working of God’s spirit within us.

Trust in the Lord , and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psalms 37:3 KJV

Prayer: Father, even though every step I take may not make sense to myself or those around me, I trust that your perfect will for my life will come to pass in Jesus name.
