#LA1Kings Devotional Day 10 by Blessing Okoro (@blessingshares)

FOCUS

The Prophet Elijah is unarguably one of the men greatly used by God. In fact, the new Testament presents him as a spiritual role model.

‘Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are…‘James 5:17a (KJV)

Great people tend to go through great trials, their overcoming factor is their ability to listen to God’s voice. Elijah, in Chapter 19, received the grace to identify the voice of God.

‘…and after the fire a still small voice.‘ 1 Kings 19:12

He wasn’t carried away by the ‘noise’ factor, hence he received the blessings attached to the recognition of ‘the still small voice’ and his obedience to God’s instructions.

In Chapter 20, there is a contrasting scenerio of ‘Partial obedience’ – it is worthy to note that your obedience can only be complete when you do exactly what God tells you to do.

This week and beyond, focus on what God has told you to do. It is the principles from God’s Word, not emotions, which must guide Leaders.

Prayer focus
Thank you Lord for your love for me. Lord help me to recognize your voice and obey you completely, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
