#la187: Day 99: Do Not Be Negligent.

freshness

Hello family, Happy fathers day to our darling fathers!

So  many lessons from the word of God today. If we are to document all, we might not stop.

We’ll highlight but a few: Having read Psalm 99 and 2 Chron 26-29,

Ijeoma reminded us that :

1) The Key to prosperity is living a godly life. Uzziah lived a godly life and God prospered him! Live a godly life and prosper, family.

2) The bigger the ego, the harder the fall. We must remain godly and humble, so that God will continue to prosper us.

Olu Seun observed that King Ahaz blindly followed evil practices, which led to his downfall. He lived a king and was buried a common man. We must strive to be obedient to God till death!

She further echoed that, A leader must never undermine his influence. The people of the land turned back to God, because Hezekiah their leader made the first move.

The people are watching us leaders, and thus we must always endeavor to set a godly example. God will help us.

WIlliams tweeted that, “Family, God saw our generation so important that He replaced the blood of animals with the blood of Jesus.. Why take it for granted??”

Our favorite quote of Hezekiah is:

2 Chronicles 29:11

“My sons, do not now be negligent, for the LORD has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”
– King Hezekiah.
Our memory verse of the day was Psalm 99:3
“Let them praise your great and awesome name. Your name is holy.”
And two questions:
1) The Bible said in 2 Chron 26:15, Uzziah made devices invented by skillful men. The skillful men invented it yet Uzziah got all the fame. why?
2) 2 Chronicles 28:19, “King Ahaz is for Judah right? Verse 19 refers to him as king of Israel. Why?

And a brief summary of the kings: by @ikeamadi

Uzziah:

  • Loved the soil. Fresh king, I thought.
  • He grew proud when he was strong, not good! led to his destruction
  • Azariah confronted Uzziah when he was to sacrifice in the temple. Christian leaders must confront evil-practicing leaders
  • Sin reduces us from kings to lepers. Ask Uzziah.

Jotham:

  • did what was right, in God’s eyes.
  • but he didn’t stop corrupt practices. Reminds me of Psalm 97:10
  • became mighty because he ordered his ways before the Lord. 2 Chron 27:6

Ahaz:

  • did very evil. God punished him. We are in danger when we forsake God. 2 Chron 28
  • God is merciful. Observe how God noticed the suffering of Judah, interceded for them. wow! 2 Chron 27:9-11. Reminds me of how much God loves sinners, still, and want them repented.
  • Samaria didn’t hesitate to release their prisoners. They respected God. Clothed their captives, and returned them to Jericho, the city of palm trees. Fresh. Like Psalm 92:12 yea? May God mediate for us.
  • Was very foolish. Refused to turn to God even in his distress. We must follow God to the grave!
  • lived a king, was buried a common man! Sad. All because of sin.

Hezekiah:

  • did what was right in the sight of the Lord.
  • favorite quote: 2 Chron 29:11, My sons, do not now be negligent, for the LORD has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”
  • restored the service of the Lord. Good king, that! We must set things aright during our time as leaders.

Psalm 99:

It was noticeable how David remembered his pastor, Samuel while talking of the prophets of old: Moses, Aaron. Pastors must lead and serve God aright, members are watching.
