#LA187: DAY 143 – You Are That Person To Save The World

FRESHNESS

Hello Amazing #LA187 Family of God! It’s Day 143! Our God is faithful!

Quiz time 🙂

According to Jeremiah 7, what happens when we walk in the ways that God has commanded us?

Hint: Jeremiah 7.

Today, we read Psalms 137 and Jeremiah 5-8.

#LA187 family members have quite a lot to say on the portion of Jeremiah we have read thus far.

We jump right into Jeremiah 5 which is already speaking to us right from the first verse.

“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.

God just needed #ONE righteous person to save the whole city! #LA187 you are that person to save the world.

Ibukun was at her duty post as usual! We’ll highlight some of what she shared.

Jeremiah 6:16 – This is what the Lord says ” Stand at the cross roads, look, ask for the ancient path, ask where the good way is and walk in it and you will find rest for your souls”

We are to learn from the mistakes of others. We should not blindly follow people because they’ve gone before us instead we should ask where the good way is before we follow. This way, we would make minimal mistakes and avoid things that could have been avoided.

Jeremiah 7:19 – Do they provoke Me to anger?” says the Lord. “Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?”

Even when we think we are going against God, in the end it comes back to us. It is our lives we waste and our time; we bear the consequences of our actions. We need to be conscious of this fact. As children sometimes we think being rebellious is to the detriment of our parents but the truth is the stigma and consequences of our actions will eventually be ours to carry.

@SignetSeal asks a vital question on Jeremiah 8:8 “How can you claim to have wisdom if you don’t know the Lord?” Verse 9 has the answer to that question.

On Psalms 137, @Ogetours urges us to praise God “in spite of” and not “because of”. We don’t need to wait till the conditions are perfect. Praise Him ANYWAY!

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 137:8

O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, Happy the one who repays you as you have served us!

Feel free to replace Babylon with whatever has held you captive (Habits inclusive).

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
