Quiz time 🙂

Complete this statement made by Elihu: The Spirit of God has made me, And the _________________________ gives me life.

Hint: Job 33 from today’s reading. By the way, NKJV is the official #LA187 version.

Today, we read Psalms 118 and Job 33-36.

Did you know that the center of the bible is Psalm 118:8?

It reads “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

Trust Him ALWAYS!

Psalms 118 is too rich; we will post quite a lot of commentaries today as #LA187 family members had so much to say. Feel free to say Amen/respond as needed!

Psalms 118:10-12 NKJV

All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

From Psalms 118:10- 12, we learned that the name of Jesus is powerful and therefore we should always make use of it. The Bible says that at the mention of that name every knee will bow in heaven on earth and beneath – (Philippians 2:10). This same name is a Strong Tower by which we are saved – (Proverbs 18:10). Finally Jesus gives us the assurance that whatever we ask in His name, He will do – (John 14:14).

There is POWER in that name.

From Job 33-36, we see Elihu continuing his discourse. Remember him? – The young man who, by the Spirit, taught us yesterday that wisdom is not measured by age.

Oluwatobiloba from our Twitter family pretty much summed it up thus: “If there is anything I have learned from Elihu, it is…”Do not speak for God until you have spoken with God” #LA187

In the words of Dami from our WhatsApp family, “For me Job 34:3 is the most critical aspect of the book of job —> for the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat. I received a word from the Lord recently that Words Are the Food of the Soul… Everything you process with your soul comes as words. Music(lyrics), Doctor’s report, commendations, condemnations, sermons, videos… What words are you allowing to take root in you???”

#FRESH

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 118:17

I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord.

Isn’t that a wonderful and encouraging promise? Please BELIEVE it and declare it as often as possible.

Stay FRESH, ALIVE AND DISCERNING!
