Today’s Reading: Luke 19 – 20.

For the daily readings, please see here.

#LA130Prayer from Luke 19 and 20:

  1. Nothing shall stop me from coming to Jesus IN JESUS NAME Luke 19:1-4
  2. I will serve God with all that I am and all that I have Luke 19:6-9
  3. Every resource God has given me will be employed for the master’s profit IN JESUS NAME Luke 19: 14-25
  4. That which I have shall not be taken from me IN JESUS NAME Luke 19:26
  5. I will praise God, no stone shall take my place IN JESUS NAME Luke 19:14
  6. I shall be called a temple of prayer, I receive spiritual sensitivity so I can know my time of visitation IN JESUS NAME Luke 19:46, 44

We read about the encounter Zacchaeus had with Jesus in Luke 19. We also learned some valuable lessons from his life:

  1. Stop giving excuses – Zacchaeus was desperate to come in contact with Jesus. He didn’t give the excuse of being height challenged.
  2. Zacchaeus positioned himself in a place that Jesus would notice him. He stood out.
  3. Zacchaeus caught the attention of our Lord Jesus by his actions – not his speech.
  4. Zacchaeus wasn’t ashamed, he didn’t think of what others would say “A rich man climbing a tree to see Jesus…”
  5. Zacchaeus didn’t delay obedience. As soon as Jesus announced He would be going to his house, he immediately jumped down from the tree and hastened to make preparations.

You have Learned! Go forth and Apply!

Food For Thought: Are you desperate for Jesus like Zacchaeus?

Please deposit Luke 20:38 into the memory bank:

For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him.
