  3. I will understand the word of God, it will be rooted in my heart and it’ll grow and produce fruits in great measure. Matthew 13:18-23
  4. I, the righteous, shall shine like the sun in the kingdom of my father. Matthew 13:43
  5. God grant me the grace to seek the kingdom like a lost treasure. Matthew 13:45-46
  6. I receive the grace to refuel and prepare myself in the place of prayer. Matthew 14:23
  7. I will increase my faith, I refuse to doubt. Matthew 14:31

The prayer focus for the book of Matthew is ‘Lord, may my life and ministry be characterized by signs and wonders.

From Matthew 13, we read various parables Jesus used as illustrations. When the disciples asked Him why he kept using parables, he responded in Verse 11, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not.” As His children, God is willing to reveal things to us that are beyond normal human comprehension. He went further to say that more understanding will be given to those who listen to His teachings. If we continue to immerse ourselves in the Word of God daily (#LA130), He will give us a deeper understanding of His Word.

The Parable of the Sower is cause for inward reflection:

“What kind of soil are we? How are we receiving the Word? Are we shallow, thorny or fertile soil?” – @Eloxie

“What kind of harvest is the Word we hear bearing in our lives? 30, 60 or 100 Fold” – @Eloxie

“How deep is the Word in us? Do we let anxiety steal its place? Do we let the thorns choke it?” – @Jiokemad

“God is sowing the seed. The seed will continue to grow. All it takes is a simple and humble heart that is willing to receive it.” – Hopilina

The Parable of the Weeds serves as a strong reminder that whatever the enemy meant for evil, God will always work out for our good. Yes – the weeds were allowed to grow with the Wheat. The fresh wheat must have been uncomfortable with the weeds right beside it. Finally, harvest time came and the wheat went to a place of rest while the weeds finally got what they deserved. Any time we’re going through some sort of affliction or trying time, let us remember this parable. Year after year, we find that we’re still dealing with the same issue, let this parable serve as comfort that THE HARVEST time must come and that issue will be dealt with accordingly.

From The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast we are taught that the kingdom is not loud but impactful. Our impact is not by numbers or noise. It’s by the Spirit, therefore, get into the Spirit!

Are we like the people mentioned in the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl? How much joy do we have when we read the Word of God? How willing are we to give up everything for our treasure?

The Parable of the Net is similar to that of the weeds, separation of good and evil will occur eventually. We must not fail to remember that a time of judgment will come.

Food For Thought: The state of our hearts and how fertile it is will determine how the seed sown will produce fruits in us.

Please deposit Matthew 14:27 into the memory bank:

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
