#LA130: DAY 004 – BY THEIR FRUIT!

LABADGE

Hello Redeemed #LA Family! The family of God that is always excited about the Word!

It’s Day 4 of our #LA130 program. For more information, please see here.

Today’s Reading: Matthew 7 – 8.

For the daily readings, please see here.

#LA130 Family members sure had a lot to share on fruit! No we don’t mean Oranges and Lemons :D. We’re talking about Spiritual Fruit.

Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

What are spiritual fruit? Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Spiritual fruit will be evident in our lives by our actions or as NLT puts it, by the way we act. It is not enough to think or say we’re Christians, we must bear fruit! Good fruit, the fruit of the Spirit.

In Matthew 8, we meet the man who made Jesus marvel. How did he do it? By exhibiting great FAITH!

There are quite a number of lessons to be learned from the Centurion’s encounter with Jesus, we’ll share a few:

  1. Be A Kind Master – The Centurion came to plead on behalf of his servant. He didn’t do away with the servant when he fell sick; instead he felt compassion and decided to do something!
  2. Like the Centurion, understand the efficacy of the spoken Word! Speak The Word!
  3. Understand the laws of faith and hang on to God’s Word. It never fails.

Food For Thought: Genuine salvation is evidenced by a life of fruitfulness. What fruit are we bearing?

Please deposit Matthew 7:11 into the memory bank:

So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Did the family catch that? God gives good gifts! Yayyyy!

Stay #FRESH, #CHAP and #ALIVE!
