Jesus is Lord by @ifyrae

Jesus is Lord!

‘That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.’ (Romans 10:9, NIV)

From the text above, it would seem that the condition for our salvation is easy; that all you need do is confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Well, it was not that easy for the early Christians. The Jews as a nation had rejected Jesus as their messiah, so at that time, for an individual to accept Christ and confess him as Messiah resulted in his persecution and possibly untimely death (Acts 7). However, despite the death threats, the early Christians still confessed Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives, the Holy Spirit working mightily in and through them.

Perhaps you live in a region where it is easy to preach to people and confess that ‘Jesus is Lord’ and truly mean it because your environment supports and encourages you. But what about the people outside our faith, who do not believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and also never proclaim Jesus as Lord?

If the prerequisite for salvation is embedded in these conditions, it means they are not saved.

These are the people we need to reach out to without fear. Just like the early Christians persevered in proclaiming Jesus as Lord, we too must continue, so that the coming generation will also believe and confess Christ as Lord and savior of their lives.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, help me to leave my comfort zone and reach out to people who do not understand what your death on the cross means. Protect those who live in countries where they cannot proclaim your name freely. Amen!
