Don’t let God come down before you change (Micah 1) by @ifyrae

Micah 1:3

3. Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth.

A high place is supposed to be a place where worship to God is carried out, where God takes all the glory, ie Temples, churches and our bodies.

But when God has to come down to tread down those places, it means that He no longer gets the glory He deserves from them and that they have been contaminated.
When all of a sudden in the old days the world felt they didn’t need God again, and they wanted to build the Tower of Babel to replace God, God himself scattered that by giving them diverse tongues.

We can build high places contrary to the high places that God desires. Whatever that takes the place of God in our lives is a high place that is doomed for treading down. It could be our jobs, spouse, children, internet, etc.

Also when we start to think something or someone is the reason why we are what or where we are today, watch it. We must daily realise that God alone is our source and that whatever we have is solely by His grace and not by how much we have worked(not that we are not to work hard). All glory must go to Him always.

Lord, we ask that Your Holy Spirit convicts us daily and whenever we start to build high places that replace you. In Jesus name. Amen
