Solid Foundation

TEXT: “At last my anger against the wall and those who covered it with whitewash will be satisfied. Then I will say to you: ‘The wall and those who whitewashed it are both gone.” Ezekiel 13:15 (NLT)

The strength of a building is in its foundation. The word is the solid foundation upon which God has given us to build, as the Psalmist asked, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3)

Today, just like in Ezekiel’s era, we have many false prophets declaring, “thus says the Lord” when the Lord has not said a word. This is why every prophecy should be weighed against the word. We ought to know the word for ourselves so we can accurately divide and distinguish the voice of God from the noise of the world.

So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.” (Luke 6:46-48)

LEARN and APPLY: The Word has been given in abundance, ignoring it is permitting yourself to be gullible and subsequently accept whitewashed walls as solid foundations. Go for the Word!

Pray: Dear Lord, we are so grateful for Your word. As we look on it as a mirror, we receive the grace to do what it says to grow from glory to glory in Jesus Name. Amen.
