Remain In The Word

Text: “May he equip you with all that you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.” – Hebrew 13:21(NLT)

To harness wool for commerce, a farmer has to shear the wool coat of his sheep to ensure that they are: neat, disease free and heat-stress free. This process benefits the farmer, bringing him profit; while the sheep is free from infections from dirt and flies.
Sanctification is that process by which a Christian believer is made holy, through the action of the Holy Spirit. And like the farmer, God benefits when we are sanctified for we are the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3). We are then able to do his will and bring glory to him (Hebrews 13:21). We too benefit from the work of sanctification as we are purged from all uncleanness and possess the mind of Christ more and more.

God works on us daily to fit his purpose of holiness. But we must yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, and make genuine efforts to take in the word of God, which is able to make us clean (John 17:17).

Learn and Apply: Are there areas of your life where you need sanctification?
Remain in God’s flock so the Good Shepherd can continually prune you with His word and His Holy Spirit.

Pray: God our father, thank you for the blood of your son that was shed to cleanse me. Make me an ever willing party to your constant and continual Sanctification. Amen
