Let Go And Let’s Live

Text: ‘And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed to the day of redemption’ Ephesians 4:30

When preparing His disciples for His departure, Jesus Christ told them about the coming of the Holy Spirit (John 16:7). He called it the ‘Comforter’ (John 16:12) and explains the importance of having the Holy Spirit dwell among us. “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13)

The presence of the Holy Spirit is to help us on all grounds, as our advocates (John14:26). He is the communication channel between heaven and us. But, there is one thing that can make us relinquish our access to the comfort and direction of the Holy Spirit and that is when we bring sorrow to Him. The Holy Spirit best operates in a joyful, offense-free environment. Many of our expressions and reactions to issues could put us off the confines of our spiritual protection and provision. When the Spirit is grieved, we lose touch, thus losing touch with our source of truth, guide, help and comfort.

Some of these things we do to express ourselves are a great disservice to us. Reactions/expressions like anger, bitterness, rage, slander, harsh words etc. all put us at risk of grieving our Helper. The times I have kept malice with someone, I lived a life of no direction. It was obvious I was alone and helpless. My knowledge and education couldn’t help me in that time until I let go.

A heart of love, forgiveness and kindness rekindles and strengthens our relationship with Holy Spirit.

LEARN and APPLY: We need to let go. We should practice what I call advanced forgiveness. This is when we proactively forgive all offenses, even before they happen.

Prayer Focus
Father, we thank You for grace. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit our way. We pray against every negative spirit that will grieve the Holy Spirit in us. We are purged and sanctified. We are vessel unto great works in Jesus name. Amen.
