Praise God!

TEXT: “My heart is overflowing with a good theme, I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1

God delights in our praises and each time we receive God’s goodness, we should sing His praises, write poems to adore Him and make His wondrous deeds known. The world is ready to draw away our hearts from Christ, but we should not allow this to happen. I think of Romans 8:35 which asks, ‘What shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?’ Above all situations God is worthy of our praise.

Being overwhelmed with uncertainty for the things God is yet to do, we can forget to give Him praise for the things He has already done. If we write God a poem each time He delights our hearts, how much more will He be delighted to do more for us because He knows in return He will get praises, and we know God inhabits the praises of His people.

LEARN and APPLY: Like the Sons of Korah, we should make praising God a lifestyle. ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits’ Psalm 103:2

Pray: Lord may I never forget Your goodness to me in times of comfort. Help me to praise You in every situation in which I find myself, in Jesus Name. Amen
