‘Now Live Him’

Text: ‘School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.’ Colossians 2:7 (MSG)

A radiant faith flourishes under the nurturing of unity, love and understanding. On my own I am but a feather, a singular droplet of water, but together, within the body of Christ, we are wings and a vast ocean, which confirms God’s glory when it is seen in action.

Why wouldn’t the world find it difficult to accept that God is compassionate and/or loving when we do not live as Him?

Why wouldn’t it be easy for believers to drift away from the church and struggle alone in their faith when we do not reflect Him so that they might feel assured that understanding is at hand through Christ Jesus.

There is no merit or valour gained from our individual profits in Christ or to feel comforted and satisfied by assuring our own salvation. To live as Christ is to fulfil Jesus’s command in Mark 8:34-28 (AMP), it is to take all that we know of Christ and to live as Him. To be willing to die to our ‘self’ and be resurrected as Christ’s own. It is to serve one another and exhibit a selfless love to see that God’s kingdom operates as it should, which means knowing our role in it and fulfilling its purpose in complete submission to God’s will.

This is the basic truth of all that we seek in Christ. Psalm 63 declares, ‘In your generous love I am really living at last!’ (Psalm 63:3 MSG).

Are you?

LEARN and APPLY: Our anointing is practical, but we can only practice that of which we have a clear understanding. All confidence, wisdom and understanding are gained through fellowship with the Holy Spirit, so ask of the Spirit. Surrender and let God be seen as you.

Prayer Focus:
Lord, I want to live as You. Help me to be more mindful of how you want me to be so Your glory is fulfilled here on earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
