Let Go And Let God!

Text: ‘Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5:7 (GNT)

Imagine posting a letter at the post office, then calling immediately to request that the letter should not be dispatched. Yet, when the recipient informs you that the letter has not been received, you then harass the post office for not sending the letter. This is how many of us behave towards God. Joyce Meyer often says, “Worry is like a rocking chair, always in motion but not going anywhere”. We pray, then worry and complain so much about that same thing, and wonder why we do not see the manifestation of our requests.

Sometimes we think that a struggle caused by our own foolishness and wrong choices doesn’t concern God. But when we let go and let God, He will bear the weight, including our struggles. Letting God have your anxieties calls for action, not passivity. Don’t submit to circumstances but to the Lord, who controls circumstances.

Carrying your worries and daily struggles by yourself reveals that you have not fully trusted God with your life. It takes humility to recognize that God cares and to admit your need for Him.

LEARN and APPLY: “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grieves to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in Prayer. Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.” (Hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”).

Pray: Dear Lord, we celebrate the privilege of being able to talk to you without restrictions. Help us to always let go and let your peace reign in every circumstance of our life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
