June 28 – Proverbs 28: Bold as a Lion

Bold as a Lion
Proverbs 28

Text: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1).

Learn and Apply: Sin makes a man a coward. Guilt in the conscience makes a man afraid, he feels danger everywhere he goes even when there is no danger. He is like a debtor who is afraid when the phone rings because he thinks his creditors are calling. Thus is the wicked man, he is a debtor to God and so runs and hides when he hears the voice of God, as Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden.

Righteousness however makes a man bold as a lion – facing every situation with confidence in God. He has settled his scores with God. He has believed in Christ, through whose death, the debt for his sin was paid. Therefore he has peace with God, and does not fear what man can do to him. Even when he slips, he knows he has an advocate, Christ Jesus the Righteous One! Bless God.

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of love, and of power, and of sound mind. May God help us to eschew every sin that is stealing our boldness, and enable us to walk in boldness every where we go today, in Jesus name.

Pray: Thank you Father for your righteousness given to us through Jesus Christ. Help us to walk in boldness today and every day in Jesus name.
