The King’s Favor
Proverbs 19

Text: The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. Proverbs 19:12

Learn and Apply: Favor is getting what you didn’t deserve. It is someone singling you out for good. Someone higher qualifying you for a position you only dreamed about. It is doors opening for you on their own accord and you walking in without having to beg for it. It is having your needs met before you knew you had a need. That is favor.

God is the great king of all the earth and his wrath is a very fearful thing (Heb 10:31). He is angry with the wicked every day. And all we like sheep have gone astray and were in need of God’s favor and grace. Thankfully, God made a way for us to experience his favor again, through Jesus Christ. And as many as received him, he gave power to become sons of God. Thus were we qualified for God’s favor, which is as dew upon the grass, quenching our thirst and giving us peace.

As we repent of every thing that brought us under the wrath of God, may we experience the favor of God which lasts a lifetime in greater proportion in Jesus name (Psalm 30:5).

Pray: Father, thank you for saving me from my sin. Help me to walk in your ways so I can continue to experience your favor in Jesus name.
