‘Jesus Is The Truth’ (2 Thess. 2) by @khemmzie #LAFruits Devotional

Reading: Psalm 72, 2 Thessalonians 2
@thelafamily MAY 18

Text: ‘With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.’ 2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NLT)

A pastor once said he was asked, “why don’t we just go to heaven as soon as we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour?” And he would reply, “Jesus came to the world for the salvation of our souls and left his Holy Spirit with us to mould us and teach us to be better people who would thirst to bring more souls to God, and also keep us strong in faith through all of life’s travails.”

If everyone were taken up to glory as soon as they were saved, who would have told us about the good news? We are in the world as Christians to live the truth, stand fast, and hold on to the teaching we have received through the scripture, sermons and the Holy Spirit, to win souls to God and not be deceived by the lies of the enemy.

In the end times, the son of perdition shall come and people will be deceived to believe in lies, as it is becoming evident these days. When people will claim they are homosexuals because they were born that way or people change their sexes because they feel or know they were supposed to be the other sex. Or when bribery is the only way your project or file will be approved, and sex is the best way to show love.

Let us not be deceived by these lies. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to teach and remind us of the truth and he will do all that is assigned of him: to protect us.

He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him.” Psalm72:14

LEARN and APPLY: Know the truth and hold on to the truth; the truth will set you free. Jesus is the truth.

Prayer Focus:
Almighty Father, thank You for Your spirit. Cause me not to be deceived and believe in lies and be destroyed but to believe only in Your truth that gives eternal life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
