Hope In The Gospel

TEXT: ‘…You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted…’ Colossians 1:23 (MSG)

How can I truly serve God in an entertainment-based society?
How can I do what God wants me to do when different gospels keep flying around me?
How can I live for God in a world that has no stomach for the truth?
The answer to many of these questions we ask can be found in this letter from Paul to the Colossians. He advises them to ‘stay grounded in the word and constantly tuned into the message’ Col 1:23.

Indeed, the power in the gospel is what gives us the assurance that Christ in us is our eternal hope of glory. The gospel is able to bear fruit and change lives just as it produced changes in the lives of the Colossians who heard the truth of the good news. The good news of the gospel has the power to give spiritual wisdom, understanding and help us live lives that honour and please God, thereby producing good fruits through the help of our helper The Holy Spirit.

Only the good news of the gospel can rescue an individual from the kingdom of darkness and transfer him into the kingdom of Christ who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Here’s the best part, the gospel is meant for everyone (me, you and everybody whom you know). God wants us to know this glorious secret inside out

Are you not glad that you have heard the gospel and that it is working mightily in you?

LEARN and APPLY: Remain tuned to the message of the gospel and don’t drift away from it. It is a precious gift that you don’t have to keep it secret. Tell everyone you know about the gospel of Christ.

Prayer Focus:
Dear Lord help me stay tuned in to your good news every day of my life. Let me tell me tell everyone about the good news of Your gospel in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
