Go Preach God’s Word!

Text: ‘We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.’ (Psalm 44:1)

We keep records of special events, dates, memories and pictures and are eager to share them with friends, friends of friends, acquaintances and sometimes even strangers when we are asked. One of the reasons why I love Christmas is the carols’ we sing. We gather with family and friends to celebrate Christ’s birth and also share stories of we have done throughout the year.

Psalm 44, reminds us that most of what we know about God and His attributes, is from the faithful record-keeping of generations past. People who recorded the special favours, miracles, saving grace and help that God performed for them, and/or for their fathers before them. And they ensured it was passed on orally or written down in scrolls.

The Bible is proof that people before us lived as we do, had similar challenges, depended on God and were saved just like we are saved today. We are here as Christians because the early Christians obeyed Christ’s instruction (Luke 10:1).
Are we running with the Word like they did? (Ps. 147:15)

LEARN and APPLY: We need to leave God’s Word for the next generation. Proclaim it to our children and everyone else that they will in turn have something to leave for their own children and others too!

Pray: Father we thank You for Your Mercies that are new each morning. Grant us the grace to proclaim them always. Amen!
