Fix Your Mind!

TEXT: “And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.” Ezekiel 40:4 (NKJV)

From the revelation of the tabernacle to Moses, the ark to Noah, the temple revealed to King David and the plans for God’s new temple revealed to Ezekiel from chapters 40 – 48, one thing connects those to whom God chose to share this revelation, they all had a mind fixed on doing the will of God.

Fixing our minds on the things God wants to show us, and desires that we share with humanity, requires that we move our human comprehension, of what is possible, out of God’s way. Romans 12:1-2, teaches us to test ourselves (our thoughts) to determine their alignment with the will of God. And Christ Jesus warned in Matthew 12:34 that our hearts control the actions of our minds and deeds.

God’s plans as revealed to Ezekiel were meticulous and orderly, and it is only a mind that is balanced and in order that God will enable to perceive such magnificence, and trust that mind to believe it. Each of these men, like we do today, lived in times of extremities – political warfare, cultural and social immorality, inequality and oppression. They too contended with unbelievers to the word of God, but they were determined, meaning their mind was set to accomplish God’s desire, whether in their lifetime or to prepare the next generation.

LEARN and APPLY: Fix your mind to win souls – “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5) to fix your heart on God, and your mind can conceive what God wills for mankind to understand.

Pray: LORD, build in me the sight, the hearing and the courage of one you can use to show and declare the word of God, in Christ Jesus’ name. Amen.
