Corporate Responsibility

TEXT: “Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 14:14 (NKJV)

During my training for Paediatric First Aid, a task involved assessing whom to assist first at the site of an accident– a 3-year old with mild injuries or an elderly person with severe injuries. Most of us instinctively sought to assist the elderly person however our instructor said that we were to attend to the toddler. We were taught that the assessment based on age comes first because the one with the least age deserves the most chance to live. And that is quite a tough decision to make, choosing who has the right to live.

In Ezekiel 14:13-20 we see that ultimately none can save us from God’s judgement but ourselves, through our own faith and righteousness in God. The message here is to be concerned about the salvation of others, it is not enough that we alone know God. From this we should see that it is our corporate responsibility to keep sharing and teaching the gospel of Christ (John 15:12-17) to win souls, edify those whose faith is weakening because every time we fail to do so, we are making that same decision on who has the right to live.

LEARN and APPLY: God wants to dwell in our midst (Eze. 14:11, Rev 21:3), what will you do to ensure that God will be received here on earth?

Pray: Beloved, I pray that Your glory be revealed to every soul who has not accepted Your presence. May we, who know You, be strengthen in Your Spirit to go out and share Your word, that Christ be may dwell in the hearts of all on earth. Amen.
