‘Anticipation’ (Rev. 10) by @ifyrae #LAFruits Devotional

Reading: Psalm 131, Revelation 10

@thelfamily July 16

Text: “And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not“. Revelation 10:4 (KJV)

Last year, when my husband was away on business trip, he had told me that he was coming with gifts. However, there was still a long wait until his return and I kept insisting that he send the things ahead. Of course, he did not see the need and I had to wait until his return. The anticipation and the wait were long, but when he finally arrived, they were worth the wait.

So I can imagine how John felt when he was told to seal what he had seen until God will reveal it. Perhaps John was attempting to write down everything he saw, eager to share with his brethren. Imagine the ache in discovering that only future believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are supposed to understand this incredible revelation of God’s majesty.

But are we believers waiting in joyful anticipation for everything in John’s revelation, and more, to be shown to us? Or are we in fear, dread or even unbelief about Christ’s coming?

LEARN and APPLY: Let us be the generation in which many will experience John’s eyewitness testimony. This is the Generation of End Times.Study God’s Word, commit to winning souls for God, and working for Him.

Pray: Dear Lord, may Your coming not take us by surprise. Grant us joyous anticipation and consecrate us for Your glory! Amen
