Live Worthy Of Your Divine Identity!

Text: ‘It is God’s will that your honourable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you’. 1 Peter 2:15 (NLT)

Peter asserted to the church that it is God’s will for His children to live honourable and godly lives so that any unbeliever, who challenges such a life, will be ashamed. We can see the characteristics of this honourable life in Galatians 5:22 – this is the sanctified life.

It is the will of God that His ‘called’ and ‘chosen’, live holy and blameless lives, as He does. God expects us to live His life – daily expressed by His word and the indwelling Spirit. By doing so, everyone we meet within, and outside, our communities will know us for our lifestyle. And is thereby drawn to God for their salvation (Matthew 5:16). Our daily conduct should be so good that it pleases God, challenges and inspires men, and our accusers are shamed, even without us speaking.

Many times we think that we are fully aware of God’s will for our lives. Yet many times we may find we are still walking in darkness because we have not specifically asked God why He has called us out of darkness, brought us to Himself and clothed us with His gifts and Divine nature.

We cannot live a life that is pleasing and totally committed to God, and to His will, if we do not know what He desires for us. Let us earnestly seek God for His will concerning every matter of our lives.

LEARN and APPLY: God has deposited the fruits of His Holy Spirit in us. It is our responsibility to express these fruits in our lives and listen to the Holy Spirit concerning every situation involving us, and others.

Pray: Father I thank You for redeeming me for Yourself. Please help me to please You in my everyday conduct. Let my lifestyle draw men to seek You, in Jesus name. Amen.
